About Janell
Janell loves the local church! Since its inception in the book of Acts, God has been keeping His Redemptive Story of love and grace alive through imperfect people with imperfect strategies. That in itself is miraculous!
As leaders in the church, our greatest desire is to grow more and more into the image of Jesus so that we can say along with the apostle Paul, “Follow me as I follow Christ.” (1 Cor. 11:1). Therefore, one of Janell’s greatest joys is partnering with leaders as they invest in their own journey of Spiritual Formation and learn to operate with passion in their ministry context.
A love for knowing, studying, and teaching God’s Word is the foundation of everything she does in life.
Her teaching and speaking venues have included weekly bible study, preaching, special events, retreats, and seminary courses. She has led hundreds of leaders and individuals through an Inductive Bible Study format, focusing on understanding and making Scripture come alive!
A love for learning has motivated Janell to pursue ongoing training and to invest in the education of others. She holds a Master of Divinity from Western Seminary and a Doctorate in Leadership Formation from Fuller Theological Seminary. As an adjunct professor, she has taught Bible Study Methods at Multnomah University, and ministry and leadership courses at Western Seminary.
She enjoys music, movies, travel, hanging out with friends, and opening her home to whoever God brings her way. She and her husband, Brad, love to spend time with their three married children and grandchildren any chance they can get!
